V Yankee von Kaltwasser is a large, powerful dog that is excellent in the work while also being a great companion in the home. He is his owner Jackie’s personal dog at home & competition dog on the field. She described him as being able to go to the airport and kids come up and hug his neck, and yet at home when someone comes to the door, he acts very defensively. But when they allow the person inside, he is neutral & fine with them. When it’s time to work, he “lights up like a Christmas tree” & is 100% on. He has crushing, full grips and really knows how to use his weight to stop the helper. He is a very biddable dog in training. Even when I visited Yankee on separate occasions I got to see his temperament. He is friendly yet neutral with people… very high prey drive and extreme food drive and settles incredibly well in the home.

I wish I could capture in words how special this dog is. She’s one of those dogs you just have to meet to appreciate all she brings to the table. Very confident, comfortable, happy dog that is very social and biddable. She handles pressure & stress exceptionally, rolls with the punches, & keeps going/is forgiving. Very high prey drive and adores the work. She is truly a joy to train cause she just loves it so much. She is excellent in the house— settles right away in any new environment I’ve taken her in and is happy to just enjoy company. Loves children & has stable nerves. She’s the type of dog that, should someone’s kids come running up without permission, I would have zero concerns about her engagement with them. Cheyenne gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with them when allowed. I went through Mario Gomes’ training program with her to get to her IGP1 title.

We put great effort into exposing our puppies at an early age to various sights, sounds, surfaces, objects, and movements. It’s great for safe exposure to new sights. Letting the puppies explore builds confidence around new stimuli. Here they can engage curiously with their environment in playful and fun ways. By observing each puppy’s personality and behavior, it also helps us determine the right placements into their new homes to match the needs & wants of the new owners.
